Our home

Our home is a recently renovated farmhouse in rural Devon. We are located in between 2 small rural villages, the house has plenty of character and original features. It is large and very spacious. Upstairs there are 5 bedrooms, 3 with double/queen and king beds and 2 single beds. All rooms have great views across the country fields towards the sea and neighboring farms. Downstairs we have a lounge room with large open fire, a smaller room with computer and TV for the kids, a large farmhouse kitchen with aga and opening onto the dining room where we gather for meals and whilst mum is cooking. At the back of the house is an entertaining room with open fireplace and lounge opening into the very sunny conservatory with views out into the back garden. We are flexible on exchange locations and dates

Who we are

  1. We are a couple in our late 30s and 40s with 3 children that go to the local village school. Wayne is retired and Brenda works as a Contact Centre consultant and interim Manager. We are Australians living in the UK for the past 8 years. We are both keen travellers and enjoy scuba diving, photography, walking and hanging out with the kids.
We have now done a few house swaps as we love to travel!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We are 5 miles outside of Plymouth but situated just off the famous Devon South Coastal Footpath. We are located between 2 small villages with many rural foothpaths to explore them. A 15 minute walk through country footpaths to our local beach - Wembury beach where it is secluded and great for smaller children. It is a 10 minute drive into the city centre for shopping, theatre and the historic HOE and Barbican areas of Plymouth, famous for it's maritime history.
We are within an hours drive to many of Cornwall's famous surf beaches and picturesque villages. There are many "Public Footpaths" in the area which are right of way for walkers across farmers land and along the coast.... many taking you to little villages with local pubs with old English character as well as many historic national trust estate homes, castles and churches to discover.
Within 20 minutes you can be in Dartmoor National Park, we are 3.5 hours drive form London but we have international gateway airports closer in both Plymouth(15mins), Bristol (1.5hrs) and Exeter (40 mins).
