Our home

Our home was built in the 1930's and has been extended to provide a spacious ground floor which includes a large kitchen diner,utility room,double aspect lounge with wood burner,dining room leading to a conservatory,a double bedroom and a separate wet room with toilet,sink and shower.Upstairs there are two bedrooms that share the main bathroom with toilet,sink,bath and separate shower.All rooms have beautiful views over the Sussex countryside.The garden is approx 1/3 of an acre and backs onto fields.There is a summerhouse at the bottom of the garden with a bed settee and shower room if needed for extra accommodation.

Who we are

  1. We are a retired couple who would like to visit our son in south Sydney Australia for as long as possible between January and March 2019.

  2. We live in a small village in the beautiful ,historic county of East Sussex.The village has a welcoming pub "The White Horse " and 2 churches.There are local shops at Herstmonceux and larger supermarkets at Hailsham or Heathfield.We have many castles,ancient sites and historic towns close to us,most notably Herstmonceux Castle,Pevensey Castle and Battle ;the site of the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
    The seaside towns of Hastings and Eastbourne are close by and the vibrant city of Brighton is 25 miles away.
    We have good rail links to London which is only 52 miles away,suitable for a day trip or two.

  3. Our home has a ground source heat pump.solar panels and photovoltaic panels for electricity.We also have a wood burner so the house is always cosy in the winter.
