Our home

My home is an attractive detached property with large rooms on a mature tree-lined executive development. The area is peaceful and quiet. The house has two double bedrooms, with the third bedroom used as a study, so is perhaps most suitable for a couple. All the usual mod cons are included, plus wireless broadband and flat-screen satellite TV, including Sky Sports. The garden is south-facing, and requires very limited maintenance. The house has warm-air central heating, with Amtico flooring in many parts. There is a piano and acoustic guitar available for use by any musical guests, also a tandem and a mountain bike. I have found it a very warm, cosy and convenient place to live for the past 20 years, and I hope you will too.

Who we are

  1. I retired from the IT industry two years ago, after 35 years. Sadly, my wife died five years ago, and I now live on my own. However, I do keep the house clean and in good condition! I intend to travel more over the next few years, and am interested in house swaps as part of larger travel tours, initially to Australia/New Zealand. I enjoy hill walking, trekking and sailing. I owned my own yacht for many years, though I've recently sold it to allow me to travel more.

Crowthorne is a smart, desirable 'village' south of Reading, about 40 minutes from Heathrow. It is 20 minutes from Legoland and Windsor Castle, 10 minutes from the M3 and M4 motorways, and one hour from Oxford, Bath, the New Forest and the South Coast, making it an excellent base for touring. London Waterloo station is 50 minutes by train. Also, the third-largest Marks & Spencers store in the UK is just ten minutes away by car! Bracknell has a multiplex cinema and Arts Centre, and there are theatres in Reading and Camberley. Good restaurants and many supermarkets make it a very pleasant place to stay.
