Our home

Our home is a pleasant, comfortable & clean house. We have recently added a conservatory to the back of the house, this is a lovely spot to relax enjoy the garden. The garden is well kept with plenty of colour and there is a large patio area complete with garden furniture to enjoy the sun (when it deigns to make an appearance)!! The dining room and lounge flow through from the conservatory , it is a comfortable place to sit and listen to music or watch Sky t.v, including Sky sports for you sports enthusiasts!

There is a separate study complete with Apple Mac and printer/copier. There is wifi throughout the house including the garden.

Up stairs we have a double bedroom and two large singles. The bathroom and the kitchen has recently been re-fitted. There is off road parking for 2 cars.

We are happy to consider a car exchange and currently own a Honda Jazz which is a manual drive.

We have great neighbours who are very welcoming and will be glad to help our visitors. For those who like to travel by public transport there is a bus stop across the road and a merseyrail station about 10 minutes away. There are shops, supermarkets and restaurants within walking distance or a short car ride.

Who we are

  1. Geoff and I (Jenny) are retired having worked as Managers in Health & Social Care. We love travelling, a few years ago we visited India and Sri Lanka which was an interesting experience. The highlight was a visit to the Taj Mahal - a breath taking moment.

In 2013 we had a marvellous time in Australia, house exchanging in Bateman's Bay and Perth. We also loved re-visiting Sydney one of our favourite cities. During the summer of 2014 we enjoyed the splendour of Canada, we saw Niagara Falls, the lovely city of Vancouver and took the ferry over to Vancouver Island where we spent a couple of weeks. That must be one of the most scenic ferry crossings in the world, but the absolute highlight was our tour of the Rockies and in particular the route from Jasper to Banff - magical. 2015 saw us in Florida, a trip to Florida Keys was one of the many highlights of this trip. Because of house exchange we feel privileged to have visited so many beautiful countries and to have met so many interesting people.

We have exchanges planned for Australia from April-July 2017, but would love to hear from any other destinations for exchanges later this year.

We look forward to hearing from you and will reply to all e mails.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We are close to Crosby village and to the Mersey estuary. There is a promenade and pathways through the sand dunes towards Formby. From here you can see some glorious sunsets. Crosby is also home to Anthony Gormley's 'iron men'. Over 80 are spread over the beach looking out towards the Mersey bar. We are 15 miles from the seaside town of Southport with its fine shopping arcades, theaters and good restaurants. In the other direction is Liverpool city centre which is approximately 6 miles away. Liverpool was 2008 European Capital of Culture and offers a good range of cultural activities, e.g. the Tate Gallery, the Merseyside water front featuring the Iconic 'Three Graces" and the restored Albert Dock, The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra often play in Philharmonic Hall as do other orchestras or musicians. A visit to Liverpool Maritime Museum, the Walker Art Gallery and St. George's Hall is an interesting experience, Liverpool is also home to two Cathedrals, the Anglican is said to be one of the largest in the country. For Beatles fans there is the Beatles museum and the Beatles trail. etc. For those of you who like to shop, a visit to the Liverpool One area is a must do. There are great shops and restaurants with views down to the Mersey and Albert dock.

We are well placed for motorway links, in just over 90 minutes you can find yourself in the beautiful Lake district, great for walking or mountaineering and North Wales is about an hour away. London can be reached by train in just over 2 hours a bit longer for Edinburgh or Glasgow. For Gerry Marsden fans take a 'Ferry Cross the Mersey" and visit some interesting places in the Wirral e.g West Kirkby, Hoylake and Port Sunlight Village.

As a visitor to Liverpool you will find so much to do and enjoy. We recently had a couple from Brisbane, Australia who stayed in our home and described the city as 'the jewel in the UK crown'. They are great ambassadors and tell everyone they meet what a fantastic time they had here.
