We have a traditional Scottish house in the lovely small town of Crieff about 15 miles from Perth and roughly an hour from both Edinburgh and Glasgow.
On the ground floor are two living rooms, one with open fire, which are cosy and welcoming. There is also a large, well-equipped dining kitchen with access to the private garden and a WC.
Upstairs, the main bedroom is spacious with a king size bed. The second bedroom is smaller and can be used either as a single or double room. There is also a bathroom with shower and bath on this level.
We are Christine and Maurice, both in our 60s and retired, but very busy and active people. We have not exchanged before, but were recommended to give it a try by some friends. We love visiting new places, both city and country, and enjoy outdoor activities, visiting galleries, theatres and eating out.
Crieff is in the very heart of the lovely county of Perthshire, the "Big Tree" county. Surrounded by gentle rolling hills, it is also close to the Highlands with many "Munros" nearby for the enthusiastic hill-walker. Water sports are possible on nearby Loch Earn. The town has two golf courses of its own, but is only 8 miles from the world-famous Gleneagles. There are a number of other courses nearby.
Within easy reach are the towns of Aberfeldy, Killin, Dunkeld and Pitlochry, all popular and interesting places to visit. Perth is 15 miles away with great shopping, galleries and restaurants. In just over an hour both Edinburgh and Glasgow can be visited. Trains run regularly to,both from nearby Dunblane.
Crieff is a great centre for exploring further afield, but is also a lovely place to just relax and enjoy a gentler pace of life.
