Our home

The house has a beautiful kitchen/dining room, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, two living rooms, a dining room, childrens' playroom, utility room, roof terrace with hammock. The main bathroom has a freestanding claw and ball foot bath, infinity mirror and blue spotlights set into the floor and ceiling. The house is really beautifully finished with dimmable halogen spots sunk into the ceilings, modern radiators etc. The garden is big, with two ponds (one with fish, the other with frogs at the right time of year) running into one another, a bridge, lit deck, hot-tub, play-house, trampoline (10ft, with safety enclosure), greenhouse, vegetable patch, apple trees, and a three seater arbor swing. We would leave a car for your use.

Who we are

  1. We are a family of four, and this will be our first house exchange. We are Simon and Maz, and we have two daughters, aged 3 and 5. We also have two cats, who are very well behaved around children!

We are really tied to school holiday dates, unfortunately.

Your neighbourhood

The village of Cliddesden is very small, having one lovely pub and a single shop (which makes and sells kites... strange, but true!). There is a duckpond at the centre of the village and many thatched houses - very picturesque. The market town of Basingstoke is 5 to 10 minutes drive away, depending on the time of day, and while the village itself is small and quiet, Basingstoke has cinemas, theatres, a concert hall, markets, museums, ice-rink, bowling complex, all the major shops, supermarkets and superstores, and easy access by train to London and the South West. Newbury and Winchester are both near by, as is the New Forest, with its gorgeous villages, untamed landscapes and wild ponies, who can often be seen trotting casually down the High Street in villages such as Brockenhurst. We are very close to the M3 for easy access to the south coast (approximately 30 minutes to Southampton) or the A303 for the West Country, and not far from the M4.
