Our home

Our Victorian two-storey terraced house is in Chiswick, West London. The house, built in 1890s, has a lounge with through doors to the dining room, a long kitchen with breakfast table, and a toilet on the ground floor. There is a garden at the back and a small front garden. Upstairs, there is a large master bedroom, with twin beds, a second bedroom with a single bed, a bathroom.

Who we are

  1. I have lived in our London house for 30 years. I love it and the surrounding area. I have retired. By training I was a scientist and later became a Special Needs Teacher at secondary schools. Originally I came from Malaysia, studied and worked in Australia, Malaysia and UK.
My late husband and I have exchanged homes in Australia, France, India, Spain, Malaysia. We had good experiences with these exchanges and I intend to continue to do so, travelling with a friend or a family member.
I lead an active and busy life when in London, attending aqua aerobic, yoga and tai chi classes. I enjoy meeting people and eating out. Other interests include languages, International cuisine, theatre, cinema, ancient history and architecture.
I am flexible with the dates. I prefer to be in centre of a town or city, close to public transport and shops.

  2. The apartment in Tarragona is our holiday home, suitable for non-simultaneous exchanges.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our house is situated in a wide tree-lined street, 6 minutes walk, partly through a park, to the High Road. It is well-served by public transport: 8 minutes walk to two Tube Stations, one of which is also a railway station that links Chiswick to Hampstead Heath in North London, as well, as Stratford in East London. There is also another train station, 15 minutes walk away which terminates at London Waterloo. West London has many green spaces. Within walking distance from our house are Turnham Green, Chiswick House Gardens, Chiswick Common and Acton Green. Further afield and easily accessible by public transport are Ravenscourt Park, Gunnersbury Park, Kew Gardens, Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. By tube we are about 25 minutes to Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and Theatreland; and 25 minutes to Heathrow Airport and Knightsbridge. Also, by car, we are minutes to the A4/M4 motorway which takes you to Oxford, Bristol and, Devon and Cornwall. On Chiswick High Road there is a great choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants, with several supermarkets and other shops. You won't starve here! Chiswick has a great number of Pubs because, during the days of horse coach travel, this was the first stop and watering hole, out of London.
