Our home

Our 4-bedroom, 3-storey house is located in a quiet residential street in Chislehurst, on the edge of London, and is an ideal base for a family wanting to be within a short distance of both central London and the Kent countryside.

On the ground floor there is a living room, downstairs WC and a large kitchen/breakfast room, which has patio doors leading out into a south-west-facing 40-foot garden. On the first floor, there are two large bedrooms, both with single beds (one of which converts into a double). There is also a small bedroom with a toddler bed (suitable for children under five) and a bathroom with bath and shower. The top floor consists of a large master bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

Who we are

We are a professional couple (a freelance journalist and a lawyer) in our late 30s with two young children. We moved to Chislehurst from Inner London in 2010 so that we could bring our children up in a safe, spacious and pleasant area that was still within easy reach of Central London.
We like the sun, and are hoping to exchange with a family from southern Europe or the southern USA.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Chislehurst is an attractive leafy suburb of London with a good range of restaurants, shops and pubs, all less than ten minutes’ walk from our house.

We are ideally located to explore the attractions of London and the South East of England. The nearest station is New Eltham (a five minute drive away) where you can catch a train to central London – the journey time is 20 minutes to London Bridge and 25 minutes to Charing Cross. It is also easy to explore some of London’s attractive residential neighbourhoods, such as Blackheath and Greenwich, which are less than 20 minutes’ drive away.

Chislehurst is also perfectly located for exploring south-east England. We are only 10 minutes’ drive from the M25 and can reach anywhere in Kent, Surrey, East Sussex or West Sussex within an hour and a half.
