Our home

Our home is a traditional English country cottage along a quaint and quiet track surrounded by a collection of similar homes. We offer a large kitchen at the heart of the home with an AGA, a large Belfast sink and where you can all eat. The kitchen leads into our private cottage garden which is half stone courtyard and half lawn, flower beds and trees. Downstairs rooms include a snug and a lounge with wooden beams and stone floors. Up a wooden spiral staircase you reach the first floor with three bedrooms, shower room and separate WC. Each bedroom has a double bed. A further spiral staircase takes you to the master bedroom in the loft with open plan bathroom.

Property features

Who we are

  1. Martin and I are married in our late 40s with a teenage son (18yrs) and daughter (16yrs). We have lived in our village for 20 years, we have a beautiful and loving Golden Retriever family dog who we love to walk around the local countryside. Martin owns his own training consultancy and I am an Associate Professor in a University Medical School and we own the village shop and cafe. We love to travel in the UK and overseas and we love to come home because our home feels like a holiday destination to us because of its tranquillity. When we travel these days our teenagers often bring friends along and so we would expect to travel as a group of six. We have a weekly cleaner and dog walker on hand as required. If we travel in the UK we often like to take our Retriever with us but this is not always possible if we travel overseas.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our home is in a lively village on the edge of the Cotswolds. The village hosts a children's playground, a traditional English Pub, a deli, family butcher and village store where café society is alive and well. Our local Market Town of Chipping Norton, 3 miles away, is home to a sports centre, an open air swimming pool, good restaurants and a small theatre. Oxford, Stratford on Avon, and Cheltenham are each a 30 minute drive away and a local rural train station 3 miles away takes you directly to London in 75 minutes. We are located at the gateway to the beautiful English Cotswolds with popular Cotswold towns of Burford, Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water each just a 20 min drive away.
