Our home

Our home is a small semi detached two level house, situated at the top end of a small quiet cul de sac. The ground floor kitchen has a dishwasher, electric cooker and hob, washing machine, microwave, fridge freezer and Nespresso coffee maker. The ground floor lounge diner overlooks the large rear garden. The second level has two double bedrooms, and bathroom. There is central heating, telephone, TV, Bose Ipod player and fast Internet access is available. We are non smokers. A car may be available by arrangement. We are only a couple of minutes walk from the local Pub and frequent bus service into town and local facilities.

Who we are

Hi, we are Howard, a retired systems engineer, & Yvonne a retired PA, living in Basingstoke in Hampshire, England.
We enjoy the outdoors, particularly walking by the beach and spend many happy hours in the New Forest and on the Isle of Wight and South coast.
We enjoy travelling and are currently looking to visit the South Australia/Adelaide area and possibly other Oz states. We are very flexible with dates and can travel from the end of December 2017 through to the end of March 2018. We are open to swaps for part or all of the period.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our house is ideally located for the major motorway and rail networks, being 5 minutes drive to the M3, with access to London, the south coast, Isle of Wight and the New Forest. Portsmouth has the historic naval dockyards with excellent shopping and the Spinnaker Tower. There is also a regular ferry service to France. The M3 also provides access to the west of England, Bath and Stonehenge.

Our home is also close to the M4, with easy access to Windsor and Oxford. The M25 London circular is only 20 minutes drive away. Heathrow airport is approximately 40km away, Gatwick airport is 98km away and Southampton airport is about an hours drive. London is a 40 minute train journey.
Many European cities are within reach for weekend getaways via budget airlines.

Basingstoke and area has good theatres, aquadrome swimming centre, ifly indoor sky diving, skating rink, bowling alley, indoor bowls, multiplex cinemas, sports centre and shops and restaurants to satisfy all tastes.
