Covered front door opens into hallway serving a street facing bay windowed dining room, small bathroom, kitchen and sitting room. The large sitting-room, equipped with digital TV and HiFi has an elegant fireplace and French windows leading into the courtyard garden. The kitchen is compact, but well equipped and the dining room contains a piano. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and one single bedroom with two bathrooms, one ensuite, both with showers. On the second floor there is a further single bedroom with a small ensuite bathroom. Upstairs is fully carpeted, whereas downstairs it is mostly laid with wooden parquet flooring and rugs. A large artist's studio is situated at the far end of the small but sheltered garden, which is a great suntrap in the summer.

The house is located 10 minutes on foot, or 5 minutes by bike from the main shops and centre of the beautiful Roman city of Chichester. There are 2 adult bikes for use to explore the city or the countryside, both of which easily accessible.

Who we are

  1. I am a retired art teacher and have always loved painting different parts of Europe. As I am on my own, I like to take my daughter and her two older children away for their holidays, usually in the summer, as she is also a teacher. I love swimming as it helps my arthritis. Most of all we love to swim and paint on our holidays with some real guaranteed sunshine!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Chichester is an interesting city with four main streets meeting at a cross, full of delightful different shops to suit all tastes. It has 2 cinemas, a leisure centre, a theatre and an international art gallery. Chichester is a beautiful historic area with the south downs to the north providing excellent footpaths for walking and cycling and to the south Chichester harbour, the sea and beaches for sailing opportunities.

The public transportation service is very good. There are trains every half an hour to London, 1 ¾ hr away. Frequent trains go to Brighton, Southampton and Portsmouth. The bus service provides access to many local towns and villages where there are good pubs and the start of many walks.

During the summer many events take place including Arundel Festival, Chichester Festival and Goodwood Festivals.
