Our home

Comfortable house fully equipped within walking distance of old Roman walled city of Chester. The two main bedrooms have twin beds and the third bedroom is now a small study with the a computer, WiFi and printer for your use. The lounge has large TV, plus stereo, three piece suite, dining table and chairs and extends into a conservatory with doors out on to a small private patio garden. It is all centrally heated, and an alarm system is in place. The kitchen is equipped with the usual electrical appliances, and there is a downstairs cloakroom.
The main bathroom upstairs has a power shower plus bath and hand wash-basin.

Who we are

  1. WE are a retired couple having done many house swaps and house sits all over Australia. we have four children, the eldest boy living in Boston and the youngest boy living in Perth and two girls in the UK. Lionel was an M.D. of a large container handling company and travelled all over the world, and Maureen has been a secretary. We have lived in Toronto, Canada, and also in Fremantle, Australia. We have also been a host family to over one hundred foreign students for a local language school. We are keen golfers and members of the local club.

Our house is situated on a small well established estate with excellent local shops within walking distance. There is a local hourly bus into Chester, although a 20minute walk will take you right into the City centre. Very friendly neighbours on hand who will all help out in any emergency Chester is a very old Roman walled city with many beautiful shops and good dining facilities, plus lots of places of historical interest. The main motorways to the entire country are within easy reach. North Wales is right on the border with some magnificent scenery, whilst the Lake District is within a hour's drive, and Scotland some 3 hours. Regular train services to London from Chester railway station taking just over two hours. Manchester airport is half an hour away from where you can get many cheap flights to the Continent.
