Our family home is situated on the edge of Bruton so the house backs on to open fields. There are gardens to the front and the rear of the house and plenty of natural light throughout. The kitchen is the hub of our home, with an Aga for cooking and patio doors that open onto the front garden. The living room has a wood burner for cosy nights in. There are plenty of books, films etc and all the usual trappings of a family home with two young teenagers.
Please note, we have recently had the house painted so it looks even better than in the pics. I will of course send new pictures as required.
We are a family of four: My wife Lesley works in Bath, and when at home enjoys gardening, reading and just spending time with the kids. My daughter Ella (16) and my son Asher (15) are great kids - Ella reads vociferously and likes to hang out with her mates. Asher loves to play football and cricket. My name is Dan and I am an Editor-in-Chief overseeing magazines and websites in the Technology sector. I enjoy cooking, travel and family time.
We have had a few successful exchanges over the years. We are a relaxed and considerate family and will make you feel as welcome as possible if you choose to come to our home. And we will of course respect your home in return.
We are ideally looking to stay somewhere sunny and near the sea in Europe next Summer.
The historic town of Bruton is a very friendly small Saxon town on the Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire border. You will certainly be made to feel welcome and we have many friends and neighbours should you need help / assistance, or would simply like to meet the locals. There are two nice pubs in town, six restaurants and a selection of specialist shops. Hauser and Wirth international art gallery also recently opened in Bruton and our small town is now regarded as a highly desirable destination in rural England. Bruton also has five schools, so there is a nice atmosphere here. The High Street is a five minute walk away, while the rolling fields are directly accessible from our garden.
Outside of Bruton we have many places of interest to visit and Bruton has a railway station should you not want to drive:
Bath Spa is directly accessible by train (50 minutes) or 40 minutes by car
Weymouth is also directly accessibly by train (1 hour)
London Paddington or London Waterloo are both accessible by train (2 hours)
Stonehenge, Glastonbury, Wells, Frome, Bristol are all well within reach.
