Our home

Hi, our names are Paul and Sonja Barnes, we have 3 children aged 12, 9 and 5 and currently living in the quiet village of Egerton,a semi-rural hamlet 25 minutes drive from Manchester, UK. Our house is a rambling Victorian country house, built in 1850 renovated in 2002. It is part of the Dunscar conservation area- surrounded by fields and woods but conveniently located close to metro train and bus links. Our 5 bedrooms consist of Main with dressing room and ensuite, overlooking beautiful fields to rear of property. There is a further 4 bedrooms (1 Queen bedm, 3 singles, 2 with trundles) plus formal lounge/dining, huge eat in country kitchen and snug(living area) with working stone fireplace. Large stone walled English garden to rear. Car use could be discussed. House built for children! We are expat Australian's looking to exchange with family in Sydney over Christmas 2013 holiday period.

Semi-Rural, village location, close to quaint local pubs. Convenient to Manchester (25 minutes), Lancashires gorgeous Ribble Valley(30 Minutes, michelin star restaurants/antiques abound!) Lake District (90 minutes) Liverpool(75 minutes), Yorkshire Dales (60 Minutes)and York (90 minutes). Our home in Dunscar Fold is originally one of the outbuildings associated with Dunscar House, an 11 bedroom Georgian Manor, located next door.
