Our home

Our home is a beautifully restored and maintained georgian terrace on 5 floors. The house has spectacular views of the river Avon and gorge and its famous 200 year old suspension bridge. Although listed as a historical momument, it is however also a warm family home for us and our 2 children, and all furnishings and amenities are contemporary (especially the kitchen!). The top floor has 3 single bedrooms and a bathroom, the second floor one double and one superking plus a bathroom. The first floor has a formal drawing room and double connecting doors to a TV room. The large kitchen and dining room are on the ground floor, and the basement houses a home cinema, a utility room, and a further double/games room.

Who we are

  1. My husband (Moray) and I (Caroline) are in our 40s with 2 teenage children. My husband works for a multinational computer company and I work in the UK financial services sector. We travel quite a lot and would like to try a houseswap as we have stayed in many european family homes and found them a warmer and more personal option than a hotel or rented apartment.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Clifton in Bristol, where our house was built 200 years ago, has been described as 'the most beautiful suburb in England'. Its gracious georgian streets and terraces are world famous and often used for historical TV/film dramas. Clifton 'village' is approx 30 mins walk from Bristol city centre which has excellent shops, restaurants, cinemas etc. The 'village' itself however, approx 500m, is a thriving hub of boutiques, restaurants, specialist shops, and 2 small supermarkets. Bristol is only 10 miles from Bath, another Georgian gem, and 120 miles from London. The beautiful beaches of Devon and Cornwall are a 2 hr drive south.
