Our home

Our home is a light, beautiful place, on four floors, with great views out the back (we live on a big hill). Our rooms are decorated in vibrant colours and we've been told our house has a happy and welcoming atmosphere. At street level we have a lovely, cosy sitting room with comfy sofa (which can also be a double bed) and TV/DVD. Next to that we have a music/office room with a piano, guitar, drum and modern Dell computer and bikes for all the family. Down the stairs is our fantastic large modern kitchen, which is a joy to cook and eat in - there is a large oak table, which seats 10 people. There is a floor space in the kitchen that is perfect for a family disco or yoga practice! There's also a second TV down there and lots of toys. The kitchen opens out onto a wooden deck with seating and plants to admire. Then it's down some more steps to the garden, with 3 swings, a climbing frame and our pet rabbits.
Upstairs in our home we have a bathroom, one adult double (king size bed) bedroom and one child's bedroom. Then up in the attic, there's a large bedroom that can sleep 2 or 3 people. This room is light, sunny and spacious and has its own washbasin. We have table football up here!

Who we are

  1. Hi, we are a family of 5 - Steve (TV graphic designer and occasional rock-star), Gina (homemaker and shamanic practitioner), and 3 boys: Billy (10 years old), Ralph (7) and Joseph (3). We love music, art, sport, gardening, good food/wine, travel and meeting new people. Gina speaks French & Spanish, having studied languages at University years ago. Steve likes playing guitar and fishing. Billy loves sport, reading, climbing trees and playing playstation games. Ralph loves drawing, playing with his pet rats and cuddly toys. Joseph likes jumping, dancing, singing and laughing. We are all quite quiet, thoughtful people and we would be trustworthy and careful guests in your home.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We live in a friendly, safe family area, where lots of arty people live. The nearby park (5 mins. walk)is spectacularly beautiful, with views over the city and trees and play equipment. The local pub is family- friendly as well as being groovy, in that it's full of an interesting mix of people and ages. They serve good food and good wine and organic beer. From our house it's a 10 min. walk to the local supermarket and bus stops which take you to the centre of Bristol. You can also walk to the centre from our house in 20 minutes. We live 10 mins. walk from a city farm, where there's a cafe, shop and animals to see. Bristol is the capital of the Southwest of England and is beautifully placed to get to Wales, London, Bath, Glastonbury and the gorgeous Devon and Cornwall beaches. Bristol has a good airport, 10 miles from our house. Bristol itself is considered a good alternative to London, in that it has great culture and shops, exciting museums and nightlife. It is a centre for alternative health and organic food markets. There is a river flowing through Bristol, with a picturesque gorge and suspension bridge. The riverside docks in the centre are an interesting and attractive place to go for a walk, with cafes, art galleries & museums.
