Our home

We live in a Victorian terraced house close to the city centre. The house is on three floors and fairly rustic but charming. Our kitchen is large and sunny and opens onto a big balcony with a nice view. Our garden is small but leafy and full of flowers. In the basement room, which opens onto the rear garden, there is a baby grand piano. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom on the top floor and a further bedroom to the front in the basement. Our house would be suitable for a family with very young children as we have stairgates in place for our own toddler.

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are Astrid and Andy, a married couple with two boys, Oscar (seven) and Matthew (one). Andy runs a car repair garage and Astrid is a freelance translator. Astrid is Swiss and we therefore travel to Switzerland every year to support our childrens' bilingual upbringing. We plan on being in Switzerland for a month this summer and for the week from 4/8 to 11/8 would be glad of a place of our own to stay at, in between visiting friends and family. This would be our first exchange and our home would be available for a whole month.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We live in a quiet set of streets on a hill just above the city centre. The centre is accessible by bus, on foot or by bicycle (two adult bikes, one childs bike, a trailer bike and a toddler seat are available). In our neighbourhood there are three pubs, two restaurants and a cafe-bar. Just down the road there is a very big park with a playground. We have very friendly neighbours all round. The Bristol harbour area is close by and offers a great selection of things to see and do. The main station is 15 mins walk away, whith frequent trains to the historic city of Bath.
