Our home

We have a comfortable family home with 5 bedrooms. In traditional Victorian style, the house has double front doors leading to a large hallway with original features. There is a big lounge to the front with open fire, television, DVD player, stereo and plenty of books including local area maps and tourist guides. The second reception has a woodburning stove and two sofas with french doors leading to the garden. In the kitchen/diner, there is a range cooker and all you need to cook up a feast. The utility room has washing machine and tumble dryer and leads to the extra toilet. Upstairs, the largest bedroom is painted opulent blue with king-size bed. There are another two double bedrooms, a home office and bathroom with bath and shower. Up a further set of stairs are two children's rooms, one of which has a single and the other a double. Both rooms have velux windows with views of the city to the hills beyond. The enclosed garden has a sun terrace at the top. There is a barbecue, chairs and table plus a large parasol for you to enjoy al fresco dining. The house and garden have much to offer children with plenty of toys. There are 4 bikes you can use.
If you would like to exchange cars, we have a VW Passat estate which can carry 5 people with plenty of space for picnics or luggage. It also has roof bars for transporting a kayak or two to the river (we have two). We have an affectionate and playful cat, Ron.

Who we are

  1. We are Tiggy and Rich, a married couple with 2 gorgeous and respectful boys. My husband is a civil engineer and urban designer and I am a primary school teacher. We have exchanged homes six times; San Sebastian, Andalucia, Slovenia, Andorra and twice in France, each a huge success. We're looking to exchange during UK school holidays for short or longer periods. We're also open to where we go. We like vibrant cities as well as rural areas, especially if they offer something for our children such as sand, sea and seafood.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We have lovely neighbours and the community is friendly. You can walk to a swimming pool and library in 3 minutes and there are local shops and a small shopping centre. A regular bus service will take you to the centre of Bristol (in 15 mins) with its incredible history, museums, galleries, theatre, cinema, shopping, cafe's, clubs and bars. London or Bath are within easy reach via train or coach (including overnight services). The beaches of North Devon and Dorset can be reached in 1 1/2 hours and Bristol is an attractive base from which to explore the whole of Southern England. A car would be beneficial but not essential to take you to many country walks including the rolling Cotswold hills and lovely country pubs. There's lots of choice for entertaining children and we'll share all we know of what is available in this wonderful city.
