Our home

Our home is welcoming, comfortable and nicely furnished and decorated throughout. On the third floor there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two toddler beds (one can be converted back to a cot if necessary). On the second floor is the large playroom with a comfortable double sofa bed (and cable telly if you want to put a teenager in here and close the door). The fourth bedroom can have either one or two single beds, depending on your requirements. Half a floor down is the bathroom and a separate utility room with washing machine and sink. The ground floor has a large living room which leads onto the large kitchen/dining area from which the (very small) garden is accessed via french doors. There is also a second WC on the ground floor.

We can provide two adult bikes and two toddler bikes.

Who we are

  1. We are Louisa (38) a Communications Officer for a local charity and Ray (52) Director of a Research Foundation. We have two girls: Alma (5) and Ivy (3). We house-swapped with a lovely family in northern France last year, and thought it was a great experience.

We would be open to suggestions for any kind of child-friendly destination anywhere in Europe.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We live in Hove, an attractive residential area on the edge of Brighton full of victorian (1880) white painted houses, which looks lovely on a sunny day. Our street is quiet and the neighbours friendly.

The beach in Brighton is stoney, so personally I don't really like to sunbathe on it, but plenty of people do anyway! You can swim in the sea. There are sandy beaches about 45 minutes drive away. It is more fun to walk along the promenade, which takes you right in to the town centre. Local activities include: windsurfing, jetskiing, surfing, parasurfing; two excellent children's playgrounds with paddling pools and cafes right on the seafront; the funfair on the pier (if you like that kind of thing) loads of lovely restaurants and shops, the list is endless. There are also lots of beautiful places to go for walks and nice country pubs if you have a car, as well as places of historical interest such as Brighton Pavillion, Arundel Castle, the town of Lewes, Firle and Charleston House, the de la Warr pavilion at Bexhill, and lots more. see http://www.visitbrighton.com

London is an hour away by train and we live about a 15 minute walk from Hove station. My partner works in London and does this journey every day, so it is perfectly possible to do a couple of days out in London if you wish.
