Our home

Our home is a comfortable Victorian terraced house in Brighton, a buzzy seaside town on the south coast of England, within easy reach of the beautiful Sussex country side and just 50 minutes by train from London. The house is a mix of traditional and modern, with good sized rooms and everything you need for a comfortable stay. We have a TV, DVD player and stereo in the sitting room, which has two squashy sofas to relax on when you've had enough of being out and about in and around Brighton. There's wireless internet access should you want it, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need if you want to cook at home. Hopefully the sun will shine on you while you are here, so you will be able to eat out in the garden. If you can't be bothered to cook, you can get an Indian takeaway delivered over the garden wall - it's a great temptation! The bathroom is large and clean, with a nice powerful shower and a big bathtub to relax in. On the first floor there is a lovely quiet and sunny double bedroom and a large twin room.

Who we are

  1. I'm Petra (48), working as a careers adviser with young people. I love travelling, sailing and cycling. This year I will be travelling with four other adults - my partner, his mother and his brother and sister - and we are hoping to spend a week or 10 days in late September/early October in a beautiful place in Spain, Greece or Turkey. We could offer you my house in Brighton, possibly in combination with another house in London, to allow you to enjoy these two very different places. Contact me to if you're interested!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Brighton is just a 50-minute train ride to London. But the town itself has lots to offer: - stylish cafes, restaurants, bars - theatres, cinemas and music venues - sighseeing: the crazy Royal Pavilion is a must - seaside activities for adults and children etc etc. I've lived here since 1988 and can't imagine ever moving anywhere else in England - Brighton just has it all. It's arty, it's great for shopping, there's wonderful food to be had, and the seaside is stunning (even though there are pebbles rather than sand). For more information, please see http://tourism.brighton.co.uk/ Also in easy reach of beautiful Sussex countryside: hiking, cycling, stately homes and gardens, Sussex Downs, watersports. You might want to see: - the Seven Sisters (gorgeous cousins of the White Cliffs of Dover) and the Cuckmere Haven estuary - Ashdown Forest, which is Winnie the Pooh country where you can play Poohsticks - Ditchling Beacon, up in the South Downs, where you can walk along the South Downs Way to get fabulous views across the sea and countryside (with plenty of opportunities to stop for lunch in a country pub or have a Sussex cream tea) - Lewes Castle and Anne of Cleves House - Eastbourne and Worthing - various local stately homes and gardens - local watersports, marinas and shopping There's so much to do that you'll want to come back for another visit.
