Our home

Our house is a Regency four storey gem just off the seafront in Brighton. We have renovated it to a high standard since moving there five years ago and we love it. You can see the sea from the windows, and can hear the waves on rough nights, very atmospheric!

It has many original features including a lovely balcony with sea views, fireplaces and it has very high ceilings and original coving making it a really special house.

We have two large bedrooms, one with en suite and the other shares the family bathroom with the third bedroom. This has a 5ft sofa bed and doubles as my office. You can sea the sea from each room.

The double sitting room has very high ceilings and it is a gracious drawing room with a working fireplace.

There is a downstairs utility room which houses our bikes and gives access to the private and very well stocked garden.

Who we are

  1. Neal and I are a married couple both running small businesses, Neal is an HR consultant and I run a small gluten free bakery. We love to travel but are particularly interested in visiting Sydney as our son is working there.

We did a successful house swop some years ago and feel this would be such a lovely way to experience Australia. We love sharing our house in France as it is such a special place and want other people to enjoy it too.

Due to work commitments we are only able to visit Sydney in January 2014, but are happy to arrange a swap in June or September 2014, which are all excellent months to be in France. The weather is good and the swallow still dipping and diving!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Kemp Town is known as the Bohemian centre of Brighton with many antique shops, galleries and cafes. It is situated to the right of the famous pier and is always much quieter than the main part of the city, and is a wonderfully colourful and eccentric area

Brighton shopping centre, the famous Laines and the Brighton Pavilion (built by the Prince Regent) are all in walking distance, about ten minutes or so, and Brighton is full of fascinating and original shops, cafes, galleries and sights. There is always something going on on the seafront at the weekend and the beautiful South Downs are easily accessible by car or on foot.
