Our home

Aldwick Bay is a private estate next to the sea. The house has a private driveway with a large lawn at the front. The house has recently been completely redecorated and is in immaculate condition. The entrance hall with WC and cloakroom leads to the modern open plan sitting room which leads to the conservatory and dining room. The kitchen is light,spacious and well equipped with new appliances. There is a separate utility room with large fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. At the side is a paved courtyard with sink and gates to the drive.
On the first floor the dual aspect master bedroom has a full ensuite bathroom with double basin vanity unit and shower over the bath. There are 2 further double bedrooms and another which is single, and also a further shower room.
Outside the wrap around established garden has plenty of shrubs, lawn and paved areas. Lots of places to sit outside and enjoy al fresco dining.

Who we are

We, Mark and Joy, have recently retired from senior public sector positions and travel as a couple, to Europe and the USA. We are keen sailors, owning a 26 foot yacht kept on a mooring in Chichester harbour. We revel in living in our seaside house in Aldwick, enjoy monthly cultural visits to London and travelling abroad. Following successful house exchanges since 2015, in Cape Cod, Barbados and Bordeaux, we are looking for another exchange.
Occasionally our 3 adult children join us for exchange holidays. We do have 2 cats at home and if exchangers could look after them whilst in our home, that would be great, but not essential.

Where is it?

Aldwick is 5 miles from Chichester, a very pleasant city with cathedral, pedestrian shopping areas and many restaurants; it also has a nationally renowned theatre, Art Gallery and 2 cinemas. There is a direct rail connection with London, taking 90 minutes. Chichester Harbour is a renowned beauty spot with tour boats, walks and many leisure boats.
The beach is 5 minutes' walk from the house, pebbles, with some sand at low tide.
Aldwick Bay Estate is an exclusive, gated, private area containing individual executive homes. Within a short drive are the South Downs and other coastal towns such as Portsmouth, Littlehampton, Worthing and Brighton.
There are plenty of shops nearby, including farm shops and also larger supermarkets.
