Our home

Our home is a completely renovated modern home set on a beautiful 1 acre plot in a quiet private lane of about 20 houses, yet close to amenities and only 30 mins from london. The photos show the view from our large open plan kitchen diner to the garden. There are two comfortable (carpeted) sitting rooms, one we use as our family room which has attached playroom. both have large plasma tvs, we have 4 modern bathrooms, 3 kids bedrooms including baby/cot room, king size master (with plasma/dvd), 1 other double with queen size bed, and a twin, also an office and gym. We have wii, freeview (no sky) wireless connection, fax, and a trampoline, swings, bikes, toys and sandpit for kids.

Who we are

Adrian an architect and Viv a self employed HR/recruitment consulting business owner. We commute into central London for work and have 3 kids (girls of 1,5 and 9) and 2 cats who are as happy in or out of the house (in case of allergies!). We are looking for somewhere warmer than UK for family holidays preferably with pool/proximity to sea or shorter breaks in interesting European cities, also interested in longer breaks in canada, carribbean or US. we are also interested in ski holidays and would be happy to do a swap with a chalet at any time in season in europe.

Nearest town is 5 mins away Berkhamsted which is an affluent market town with many shops and restaurants. Mainline station to london - takes 30 mins or 45 mins to drive to london. We are in the foot of the chiltern hills a designated 'area of outstanding natural beauty' and there are numerous cute villages and pubs, cycle routes, running tracks, horseriding routes in stunning countryside. around 300 metres from our home is the Champneys health resort where it is possible to book a 'day experience' - use gym, pool, extensive facilities and book additional treatments. see www.champneys.com (tring). we can arrange babysitters who have looked after our own children. The beauty of it is that it feels rural and far from london and yet is still so easily accessible with trains every 15 minutes until late.
