We have a recently refurbished and extended three bedroomed cottage (with two bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher) in an idyllic village in North Oxfordshire. The cottage has lots of living space (centrally heated and with a logburner) and is in a quiet cul de sac. There is a balcony from the main bedroom overlooking the south facing garden which has a patio and water features.
Although we have no pets we would have no objection to one well behaved dog (!) staying at the property. Previous swappers have said 'Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us, we have had a wonderful weekend'; 'Thank you very much indeed for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. We have had a lovely holiday!' and 'Thank you so much for a very relaxing stay in your beautiful home'. Our most recent returning swappers coming back for second visit said 'Thank you again for a marvellous break'.
Additional Information
We are a semi retired professional couple and are flexible about swapping although we are ideally looking for weekends or longer and are able to swap at short notice. We might want to bring other adult friends along with us.
Our property sleeps 6 in three bedrooms - the third bedroom has a single bed and we can pull out another single bed although it is low to the floor.
The village is easily reached from junctions 11 or 12 of the M40. It is midway between Banbury and Stratford-upon-Avon. It is also within easy distance of the Cotswolds , Oxford and Blenheim Palace. Upton House (National Trust) is just up the road and Compton Verney (gallery) is a short drive away. Bicester Village for outlet shopping can be easily reached by train or car. London can be visited for a day trip on a good train service from Banbury.
Although there are lots of places to visit you might just want to stay in Hornton - a beautiful place with lovely walks and a village pub and church.
