Our home

We had our home designed and built for us 5 years ago. It is situated in a large garden with lovely views to the rear across rolling countryside. We are in the New Forest National Park on the edge of a lovely village which has 3 pubs, a shop and a post office. We are also midway between the cities of Salisbury and Southampton both within approx 20 minutes drive. The house has central heating and a lovely large inglenook fireplace where we burn logs in the winter. The kitchen/diner/family room is fully equipped with 2 ovens, an induction hob plus 2 additional gas burners, a fridge freezer with an ice maker and piped water, a dishwasher and a HD TV and Sky. We tend to use this room most of the time, adjourning to the lounge in the evening if we want to settle down and light the fire. There is a separate utility room with washing machine. All the bedrooms (upstairs) have double beds (2 are kingsize), 1 also has a cot. Two of the bedrooms are en-suite and there is also a family bathroom with a bath and shower

Who we are

  1. We are Martin and Sue. We run our own business at the moment but are retiring next year (just a little early), and have decided to celebrate with a nice long holiday to several different parts of Australia. We have 3 grown up daughters, all married with children who still live locally. We love walking, seeing new places, good food and wine.(oh, and the sunshine!)We have never done a house exchange before, but thought that as we want to spend a good few weeks on the sunshine coast over Christmas 2012/13 now would be a good time to give it a try.
