Our home

Our home is perfect for people who want to visit Izmir, visit Turkey's historical sites (Ephesus, Bergama, etc.), go to Turkey's beaches, and have easy access to local transportation. We have 3 bedrooms - 1 which has a bed for 2 people, 1- single bed + child's crib/bed, and 1 room/office with a fold out couch. 2 more people can easily sleep in the salon. The kitchen is spacious, overlooking a football field. AND we are right across the street from a grocery store. Many bakeries are within walking distance, as is the city's metro and bus lines. Perfect for anyone wanting a central location in Izmir with the opportunity to explore other regions.

Who we are

  1. My husband, Nathan, and I are Americans, and we have been living in Bornova, Turkey for over 5 years now, doing cultural exchange projects for university students. We have 2 children under 5, and we love to travel. Coming all the way from California, we figured we should take advantage of our close proximity to Europe and other neighboring countries while we can. We travel quite a bit in and out of Europe for conferences but are always eager to tag on a few days for vacation. If the dates work out, we'd love to swap with anyone interested in coming to Turkey. We've fallen in love with the country and hope others will too!

Your neighbourhood

We live in a very safe neighborhood (Bornova), right in front of a huge park. Again, transportation to-and-from the airport, to neighboring beaches, and shopping is easily accessible.
