Our home

Spend some time on the Swiss riviera in our beautiful, modern and perfectly located flat! It's in Vevey, a cute small town, 5 km away from Montreux and near Geneva and the Swiss mountains (10 minutes by train!)! Our flat is 100 m2, has got 3 big rooms (one bedroom with Japanese bed - but soon a "normal" one !) for 2, and another room with an optional bed for 1 person). Each room has got its own bathroom (one with bath and shower, the other one with shower). The living room is really spacious (around 40 m2), with big TV (flat screen) and a very comfortable sofa. Open kitchen with modern oven, dishwasher, nespresso coffeemachine (with caps), and table for 4-5 people (open kitchen). It's the ideal place to stay if you like swimming in the lake in the summer, going hiking and if you want to visit Switzerland! ps: second floor, no elevator.

Who we are

  1. My name's Joelle and I'm an ENGLISH TEACHER in the French part of Switzerland (MONTREUX) at secondary school (students from 12 to 17). We're looking for a nice flat swap for next summer holiday (July-August 2010) but I'm also
looking for a motivated FRENCH TEACHER who lives in the United States and who would be interested in swaping our JOBS AND FLATS FOR ONE YEAR (August 2011-2012).
There is a possibility to do that via an association called exchange.ch (for Swiss teachers) and for American teachers the association is called fullbright (http://www.fulbrightexchanges.org/) I've recently enrolled, am still waiting for an answer, but I know that they tend to have difficulties to find people in the USA (American people think that the only way to improve their French is to go to Paris.. let me tell you this: we do speak French here too !! and Paris is only 4 hours away by train.. ) Well, if you need further information, visit the American website and contact me! I would like to do that with somebody who teaches French in a not too problematic school (my school is really nice and students tend to behave, as there are quite strict rules), and whose flat is quite modern and big enough for 2 people (my boyfriend would come too)
    Don't hesitate to contact me!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Vevey is a touristic place in Switzerland. It's a small town with many shops, a beautiful park and beaches where you can relax in the summer. People love the fabulous view of the lake and of the Swiss mountains. You can have a walk along the lake, sunbath, swim, go hiking in the nearby mountains and visit the nearby cities (Geneva, Lausanne, Bern ... ). The Alps offer you a wonderful view and you can go to Valais to eat a fondue or go hiking !(15 minutes by train) Many museums (Martigny, Lausanne, Geneva ..) to visit ! As Switzerland is a small country, you can visit many different places (don't forget to visit the Swiss-german part too!) if you stay 2 or 3 weeks. We don't have a car but railway and buses are really good in Switzerland. We would be happy to help you organise your stay here, in case you're interested. For people who like Jazz music: MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL from 2 to 17 July (it's 5 km away! ) see http://www.montreuxjazz.com/
