Our home

Our home is a modernized parsonage, in its origin dating from 1556. It is located 10 km from downtown Berne, the capital of Switzerland, with its medieval center, museums and in summer the possibility of urban swimming in the river Aare. The Bernese Oberland is only 45 minutes away (by car or by train) We also own an apartment in the town of Brienz in the Bernese Oberland, close to Interlaken, an ideal place for hiking. It sleeps 5 persons, has two balconies and is a 2 minute walk away from the Lake of Brienz.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Meikirch is a small rural community with farms, cows, and a wonderful panorama view of the alps. In the midst of pastures it is at the same time close to the city of Berne. The bus that takes you downtown in 22 minutes leaves 100m from our home. There is a bus every half hour. Brienz is a small town at the Lake of Brienz. It is famous for its wood carving tradition. The wood carving and violin making school are close to our chalet. The train station (trains to Interlaken and to Lucerne) is a 3 minutes-walk away. There are innumerable hiking possibilites in the area. A steam train takes you up to the Brienzer Rothorn.
