Our home

Our spacious house (south-west-facing) provides a beautiful view of the snow-capped peaks of the Appenzell hiking paradise. The house was built in 2002 and is situated in the wider Zurich Area and near the Lake of Constance.

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are Ivo and Zita together with our four children between the ages of 16, 14, 10, and 8 years. Ivo works for a national Swiss bank as a controller and Zita for the University of St. Gallen as an executive assistant. Our cat Saba is a wanderer but she wouldn't mind a meal every day! Our neighbors are very helpful and make sure the garden is mowed regularly. We would love to discover other countries and "home for exchange" seems to be a perfect way to discover both, new countries wit its traditions.

The stunning region Alpstein is a fantastic hiking area with over 20 mountain inns and 400 km of hiking routes. Furthermore, there is a sizeable, well-signposted net of biking and inline skating routes. The city of St. Gallen includes the abbey district which belongs to the UNESCO world heritage site which includes the cathedral precincts with its stunning monastic library. St. Gallen has also achieved fame in the fields of textiles and architecture. You will also find a modern theatre, art galleries and a picturesque old town. For extended journeys by car it will take you 30 minutes to the German or Austrian border and less than 3 hours to Italy or France.
