Our home

The small apartment is located in the old part of the city of Berne, capital of Switzerland. It's on the 4th floor of a 600 years old house (no elevator!). However the apartment has been fully renovated a couple of years ago with new and modern kitchen and bathroom. 2 windows lead to a small balcony on the roof, and from there you will enjoy a very nice view on a church, the main cathedral and the old medival streets and the roofs of the surrounding houses.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

My house is literally adjacent to an old church, so if you're sensibel to occasional church bells this might be a problem. However the new windows are soundproofing and if you keep them closed, you wont barely hear it. There are many possible activities around the area which include go shopping (you're already in the center), go for a drink in one of the countless small cafés and bars around the area, have a walk or swim at the river which is only 5 minutes walking distance or visite museums like Paul Klee museum and others. The house where Albert Einstein invented his theory of relativity is in 1 minute walking distance. Or you can visite the alps which are reachable in 1-2 hours by train or car or visite other beautifull cities of Switzerland like Luzern (1 hour) Zurich (1 hour) or Geneva (2 hours). Paris and London are in 1 hour plane distance. Parking situation is expensive so it's recommended to hire a car only when needed and not permanently during the stay. Actually bus and train connection are very good throughout Switzerland and Europe.
