Our home

We offer our large house in a very quiet street within a nice neighbourhood. We have three bedrooms, one with a double bed, two rooms with a single bed. There is a nice living room, and a large kitchen/dining room. The house was built in the 20s. It has been recently renovated. One of the bedrooms and the laundry lead out to a beautiful and cosy garden with decking and a BBQ. There are wooden floors and paving tiles throughout the entire house. The house is clean and with modern furnishings. A weekly cleaner can be available if required. We also have friendly neighbours and families living nearby.

Who we are

  1. We are a psychologist/science editor (Kathi,45) and an artist (Marg, 53). We own a house in Basel and an apartment in Barcelona. We have lived in both cities for many years. We are cosmopolitan and open-minded. We are very tidy, and will be respectful towards your home. We are planning visits to European cities for short trips as well as longer overseas stays. Please surprise us with your offers.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The house is situated near the centre of Basel, in the sunny Kleinbasel. We live 1 minute walk from the Rhine where you can take a sunbath or swim down the river as many people do in summer. 3 minutes walk to the next bus station from where you get to the main station within 10 minutes and to the International Airport Basel/Freiburg/Mulhouse within half an hour. By fast train you can get to all Swiss cities (1 hour to Zurich, Bern, Lucerne etc., 3 hours to Geneva and Ticino) and also French and German cities (3 hours to Paris by train, 1 hour to Freiburg, Colmar, Strassbourg, Frankfurt etc.). The Airport provides a lot of low budget flights to many European destinations most of which you can reach within 1 or 2 hours. Basel is famous for its modern architecture (Novartis Campus, Herzog&De Meuron), its museums (Vitra Design Museum, Fondation Beyeler etc.) and its fairs (ART Basel etc.) as well as for its lovely environment (Jurassic mountains, the vineyards of the French Alsace and the German South). It is situated at the borders of France, Germany and Switzerland. Here you can walk, bike, swim and eat a lot of regional specialties of this unique Swiss-French-German border region.
