Our home

We have moved to this place 10 years ago when looking for a quiet rural place without tourism. The premises consist of the main house and two guest places: Casa Azul (30m2) and Casa Verde (90). It's located 800m away from Ventorros de San José, a village with 1200 inhabitants and everything one needs for living constantly in this olive-grove-area. Yet all the famous andalusian places are in an hour's reach (Granada, Cordoba, Seville, Malaga). Our place is quiet and invites for relaxing or having daily excursions. We leave our doors open even at night as there is no criminality. It's apt for persons who would like to combine rural tranquility with cultural excursions. The installations are all modern and new. We dispose of an own watersource and public water as well. A pool can help to overcome the hot summers and nightly cooling-down at a sea level of 1000m is pleasant.

Who we are

  1. My wife and I are retired "timemillioners". We had run a private german school on Ibiza for 25 years and left the island being sick and tired of tourism. Our daily life is tranquil and interrupted by travels. I'm, Nemo, try to become a writer and have focussed on travel writing. That's also because I have become a member of homeforexchange. Consequently we dispose of many books (german, spanish, english) which interested "exchangers" might be interested in.

Your neighbourhood

Andalusia in general is an olive monoculture but with surprising differences. Ventorros lives of olive and esparragus harvesting e.g. There are no neighbours next to us but who wants to contact local people is offered seven bars in the village, some of which have excellent local food. If you don't want to cook you can eat in the village. As all farmers the "Ventorreños" are conservative but very friendly, many of them having been migrants and knowing that the world is bigger than their beloved village.
