Our home

The house area is 200 sq.mt., within the famed historic center(centro historico)of San Miguel and a short distance walk from galleries, theater, restaurants, churches, etc. The house construction is brick and stucco, on two floors with a roof terrace and a smaller terrace on the second floor and a small garden. It has been renovated over the last three years. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, kitchen, dining room, breakfast room, studio, family room and large livingroom. The first floor consist of liv.rm,dining rm.;break.rm.;small bedroom and bathroom. On the second floor: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, family rm.;small terrace. Most streets in town are cobblestone.

Who we are

  1. Tom and Rosario are both physicians. Rosario (Chayo) in her early 60's is retired. Tom,50's volunteers at our local hospital 2 days a week and also practices covering for other physicians for short periods of time. We have two children, both adults and two grandchildren. We love traveling, cooking, reading, painting, walking. Chayo also putters in the garden.

San Miguel de Allende is a world known colonial town, now a city, and is one of the towns "on the independence route" It had an important role during the historial events of Mexican Independence movement. During colonial times the main activity was its proximity to major silver mining centers. Today, it is a cosmopolitan town, with over 50 nationalities represented among its residents. It has a large number of painters and writers. It counts with two art schools. The location of San Miguel is ideal for exploring nearby beautiful colonial cities: Guanajuato (the State Capital), Queretaro, Morelia.
