Our home

Our home is a detached, 2 bedroomed villa, south/west facing (sun all day)with open aspect overlooking distant mountains and countryside, in a lovely village, Pinar de Campoverde,in the Costa Blanca. We are only 10 minutes drive from the coast and surrounded by citrus groves. We have a comfortable open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen, with air conditioning fans and mosquito blinds, two double bedrooms, one with queen and one with double bed.

The back bedroom has patio doors giving easy access to the roof terrace . We have English tv as well as some Spanish channels. Our covered porch area is ideal for dining or relaxing and gives shade from the sun. Our garden is fully tiled and private, with plenty of seating areas and loungers. An added plus is the solarium/conservatory on the roof terrace, ideal for cooler days or evenings, which leads onto the terrace with stunning views over the surrounding countryside. Sit with a glass of wine and enjoy the breathtaking sunsets. There is a gated community pool, shared between our small development a short distance away from the villa.

Although this is our second home, we value and love it as much as our home in UK and have equipped and furnished it accordingly. As experienced home exchangers we know how important it is for a home to be well equipped and we ensure that our home is your "home from home", fast washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, iron (some of us still iron!),hairdryers, and broadband internet. There is a plentiful supply of bedding and towels, beach towels and whenever possible we try to leave a welcome pack so you're able to have at least a cup of tea or coffee and some breakfast on your arrival! We could arrange the loan of our car for the duration of your stay.

Who we are

  1. We (Brian and Bernie) are early retirees, Brian worked in the oil industry and latterly Bernie worked for National Health Service as a psychotherapist. We have toured USA/Canada in an ancient RV-great fun, and spent many holidays touring UK and Europe in our UK based motorhome, although we now also divide our time between our homes in North Wales and Pinar de Campoverde, in the Costa Blanca, Spain (also on the exchange site,13567), and of course, our home exchanges, which we love to use as bases to see the world. We've only recently moved to North Wales and have spent the last few months renovating our home which we fell in love with due to its privacy, close proximity to the beach, and of course as were getting on a bit now, its handiness to shops and transport links. Both our homes are available for exchange, making a 2 centre holiday a possibility(budget airlines operate from/to local airports in UK and Spain). We have had the privilege of exchanging over 30 times since joining in 2007, all of them memorable, and we have made many friends. Non simultaneous exchanges would be possible with both our homes as if we're in one the other's available or we can use the motorhome. We may be travelling with 2 friends on occasions but would discuss this with our exchangees. We are non smokers and would treat your home with the same care and respect we afford our own. We strive to make sure our exchangers have a memorable holiday. We answer all emails

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Pinar de Campoverde,is a small Spanish village set on a hillside overlooking the sea, mountains, and citrus groves. It is about 5kms inland away from the hustle and bustle of the coast and yet within a very short drive of glorious beaches, famous healing mud baths of the Mar Menor, and lovely inland villages. You can relax here or use as a base for touring further afield, i.e. historical cities such as Murcia, Cartegena, Alicante. Most of our neighbours are English although in the older part of the village there is a mix of nationalities, Spanish, German, Dutch. We have a few bars within 5 mins walking distance (sit outside and enjoy the wonderful views and sunsets with a glass of wine and tapas), with many more in the village as well as pharmacies, doctors, shops and a supermarket. Our nearest town is Pilar de la Horadada a typical bustling Spanish town with street markets on Fridays and Sundays and 10mins drive away. Just outside Campoverde there is a brand new golf course, an addition to the other highly acclaimed golf courses in the area. A new airport based at Corvera is 40mins away and International airport Alicante is 45.
