Our home

Large old farmhouse, converted into 2 completely self contained houses. There are two bedrooms, one on the ground floor (next to the lounge) and one on the upper floor. One bathroom situated on the upper floor. The well equipped kitchen is directly off the lounge/dining area. From here you can access the front terrace with it's outside dining area. There is also the 'snuggery', a small cosy room with open fire, a small selection of books and a music centre.
The outside patio/terrace areas are shared with the owner(me), who lives next door. However, I'm very discreet and rarely use the outside areas when other people are there. The patio is an open area with seating and leads to the upper terrace, with 4 seat table, swing seat, sun beds... fabulous views.

AS I LIVE IN THE COUNTRY, MY PREFERRED EXCHANGE WOULD BE A CITY CENTRE OR SEASIDE RESORT. NON-SIMULTANEOUS EXCHANGE. IT GETS VERY COLD IN MID-WINTER.

Property features

Who we are

  1. I am a retired tour escort, who, having seen many wonders of the world, decided to live in one of them. Just joking, but it was love at first sight when 21 years ago I was brought to this area and shown a very run-down old house, with chickens and a donkey in residence. I had to have it, and over the next year it was converted into 2 separate houses.
I was still working then, but spent as much time as possible in my house and eventually retired here 6 years ago. I love my music, read a lot,
(tried writing myself, but no success). I still love to travel, though these days I seem to just potter around Europe, rather than more exotic climes.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

This is an extremely peaceful and relaxing area, though the cock crows when he decides and the goat bells echo round the hill side. We have 6 houses in this 'Cortijo'(hamlet)of which only three are permanently occupied. My neighbors are a charismatic goatherd, a well travelled school teacher and a motley crew of dogs, cats, chickens and goats. We are 12 minutes by car, on an unmade road, to the nearest village. Here you will find Shops, bars, banks, eating places. There is also a restaurant/bar 6 minutes away, just below us.If you want to experience the Andalucian countryside, this is the real deal.

We are a comfortable 35 minutes drive to a lovely beach resort (Torre Del Mar), which also has a golf course. Horse riding about 10 minutes away. Even though we are sublimely isolated, you can easily get to such magic places as Granada(1.50 hrs), Seville(2.20 hrs), Cordoba(2.00 hrs), Malaga(1.00 hr). Also worth visiting the not so well known towns of Archidona, Antequera, Alhama de Granada.

AS I LIVE IN THE COUNTRY, MY PREFERRED EXCHANGE WOULD BE A CITY CENTRE OR SEASIDE RESORT. NON-SIMULTANEOUS/SECOND HOME. ALSO CONSIDER A LONG TERM SUMMER, NON-SIMULTANEOUS EXCHANGE.
