Our home

Our charming Spanish country home is a modern award-winning masia-style villa with beamed ceilings and tosca stone features, one of 3 houses (the other 2 houses are at present unoccupied) built on a level easily-accessible plot (a rarity in Spain, ideal for the less mobile)on the site of an old olive grove. Covered 'nayas' and a terrace, fully-furnished with tables, chairs, 3 piece wicker suite and a canopied swing seat, look onto a landscaped garden (now fully mature -ignore photos!), surrounded by trees and original stone walls. Indoors, downstairs, a hall, with shower-room off it, leads into a lounge with comfortable reclining leather chairs and sofa, a large woodburner and quality satellite TV. Through an archway is the spacious fully-fitted kitchen/diner, leading to an large en-suite guest bedroom/study with double bed and TV. all 3 rooms are light and airy, with french doors leading out to the 'nayas' and terrace. Upstairs, there is a large master bedroom with a queen-sized bed and panoramic mountain views from 3 arched windows; the second double bedroom with 2 single beds and a balcony; a large bathroom. All key rooms have hot / cold air-conditioning and ceiling fans, with additional underfloor heating downstairs, rarely used as the woodburner is so efficient. We have no pool but there are many local swimming pools, both public and attached to restaurants.

As retirees, we can be more flexible over dates, duration(long exchanges possible), and destinations. However, we like to make main exchanges at least a year in advance ,so, if interested, contact us soon!Surprise us!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We live in the Northern Costa Blanca, renowned for its healthy climate and stunning scenery, a favourite area for discerning ex-pats seeking a traditional permanent home, away from identikit urbanisations and crowded noisy coastal apartment blocks. Most of our neighbours live in traditional villas surrounded by rustic land. the nearby towns and villages retain their authentic Spanish culture whilst integrating the established ex-pat community. Ours is the perfect tourist location: in the peaceful Val del Pop with its vinyards, almond, carob and olive groves, surrounded by mountains, near the small town of Jalon with its bodegas and famous Saturday 'rastro' (antique market), yet only 20-40 mins away from the beaches and coastal resorts of Javea, Moraira, Denia and Calpe.Jalon supplies all your everyday needs with a good supermarket, plenty of small shops, bars and restaurants. We are 10 mins from the motorway, with cosmopolitan Valencia and airports at Alicante and Valencia an hour away. Almost anywhere in Spain is only a day away. 30 mins away Benidorm offers a lively large resort nightlife, shopping malls and theme parks. Whether you seek outdoor activities (hiking, riding etc.) or water sports, or want to explore the countryside and historic towns, or immerse yourself in culture, or simply want to lie on a beach deciding which of the huge variety of bars and restaurants you will visit next, you will be spoilt for choice.
