Who we are

  1. We are David and Suzy both semi retired professionals, David is now painting, sculpting, hoping to produce a masterpiece and Suzy is an interior designer, yoga freak. David's children are grown up and the plan is to enjoy life and seize the day!. Having travelled and worked around the world we have special ties to Australia, Ibiza/spain, Norway, the UK, America and Germany. We like to visit friends but not impose ourselves on them and find hotels claustrophobic and then theres the washing! We like to spend winters in warmer climates and like to visit Australia yearly. We like non- simultaneous swops where we come to australia/asia october to April and swops come to Spain in the best months may-october.We normally swop cars for local use suggesting hiring cars either end for touring. We have done many swops now, always enjoyable and hopefully made lasting friends. At the moment we would like to go to new york anytime. The mill has swop dates available 2013.Looking for sydney, melb,in Australia and bali, asia for jan/feb/march/or april for 2014.Spain is available for non simultaneous swops in the best weather months may- oct 2013 & 2014.We prefer couples and friends travelling together or families with well behaved grown children and sometimes travel with another couple. We always treat homes with great care.
We are also interested in simultaneous long swops if you need a European base for travel as we would like a long swop in Sydney sometime.

Your neighbourhood

Polop is a typical Spanish village, unspoilt, historically important for its strategic position on the Mediterranean and for its water which filters through the mountain and is collected by people from the village fountains. The church and castle are floodlit at night, there are little bars and several Spanish cafe/restaurants, small village food shops, chemist, hairdressers etc. and a market on weds for local produce. The village is peaceful rather than quiet and has lots of Spanish customs and the fiestas in the summer months. More nightlife//very good restaurants and tapas bars nearby, spanish food is really good. our nearest airports are Alicante (1hr) and Valencia (2 hrs) Valencia being Spains 3rd largest city and home to the Americas cup and Grand Prix. Granada/alhambra (5hrs) madrid (3hrs) and barcelona 4-5 hrs, makes it a great travel base. There are a lot of walking, cycling, mountaineering visitors to the area. You can head into the mountains for small historic villages or to the beach to sail or learn to surf 15-20 mins away. The famous "SHA" wellness/clinic spa is nearbye in albir, voted "best luxury wellness spa" world luxury hotel awards 2011, "best gastronomy trend of spain" millesime 2009,"mejor spa medico international" conde nast traveller 2010 go to www.shawellnessclinic.com to see details.Ibiza and the belaeric Islands, take a boat from denia 40 mins from us and about 2 hs by boat. The area has a micro climate and remains green throughout the year. The best months to visit are mid May- early oct , oct after we still have nice weather but its changeable, with some rain.
