Big three-storey semi-detached house with a roof terrace overlooking Granada and the Alhambra, with the Sierra Nevada in the background and community swimmingpool for the summer months. Within walking distance of the old quarter (Albaycín) and the city centre. Plenty of room to relax in our Moorish-style living-room with fireplace and garden view. Fully-equipped kitchen. 2 Bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 terraces, 2 balconies, plenty of parking space. Quiet neighbourhood.
We are Angeles and Jens, a Spanish-German couple without children in our early fourties. Angeles is a professor at the University of Granada and Jens works as a full-time freelance translator for German, English and Russian, both with a keen interest in traveling and exploring new places. We are clean and tidy people and will take care of your place.
Quiet location in a new housing estate on a hill facing the Alhambra palace and above the Albayzin, formerly the old Arabic quarter (UNESCO Cultural World Heritage) with a wide selection of bars and restaurants, which is within walking distance (5 minutes). The city centre can also be reached easily on foot (20 minutes), strolling down the hill through the picturesque cobblestone streets of the Albayzin. You have a great view on the snow-topped peaks of the Sierra Nevada and the valley of Granada. Parts of the old town wall are a mere 100m away, on the other side of which is the Sacromonte, the gipsy quarters offering restaurants, cave bars and Flamenco shows.
Granada's Christian-Muslim history is still very present today, and part of its culture is also the serving of a free snack - the famous tapa - with every (alcoholic) drink you order in most bars. A fun way to explore the local cuisine!
Both the Mediterranean beaches (nearest seaside resorts are Motril and Salobrena) and the Sierra Nevada ski resort are less than an hour's drive away!
