Our home

This is our holiday home which is very comfortable and well equipped. We have a lovely pool which has a mountain view with beautiful sunsets. This part of Spain has a very mild climate all year round, in winter months it is really nice for walks and hiking. July and August do get quite hot and this time of year is best spent around the pool or on the beach. As a family we love to visit in September and October when it is still warm enough to swim in the sea but mild enough to walk too. I have an english speaking girl who looks after the villa for us and would be available to help if there was any problems. The villa will be professionally cleaned before and after your visit.

Who we are

  1. We are John and Sharon, married for 30 years with two grown up children. We have our own business which has taken up alot of our time but we are now able to spend more time travelling. We mostly travel on our own but sometimes our two children come with us, especially if it's a skiing trip. We have never house swapped before but thought it was an ideal way to travel and see a more personal view of a country. We are from Ireland but love Spain and the Spanish people so we bought our home there 4 years ago and have had many happy holidays there. We are both learning Spanish and are very interested in Spanish culture and have even taken up Salsa dancing! If you have any questions we would be happy to try and answer them.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

It is possible (most of the year) to visit the nature park of Calpe's Rock of Ifach, the top of the rock can be reached up a zigzagging track that rewards you with a fantastic panoramic view over the entire Marina Alta coastline. Also walking around the Algar waterfalls and swimming in the natural pools and falls is particularlly nice on hot days.
For those of you with children Aqualandia(water park), Mundomar(Marine & exotic animal park), Terra Mitica(theme park) and Go-Karting are all within a 20 minutes drive.
Valley of Wine (Jalon Valley) is 15km away, drive through lovely countryside and it is possible to visit two Bodegas, where they encourage you to sample the local wine.
An arts and craft fair is held in the Old Town of Calpe everyday (except Mondays) from June - September with frequent live street entertainment. There are also some small museums in this old part of town.
A large Saturday market runs throughout the year.
