Our home

Our 'piso' is on the top floor of an old building. There's no elevator, but once you climb the stairs, it feels like a little oasis in the middle of the city. There's only one apartment per floor, very private. The place is like a mini-loft w/amazing views & tonnes of light. The terrace has a large seating area & even an out-door shower! There's also a home office/guest room which is the only enclosed room in the otherwise open-plan space. We renovated it two years ago & love it - the vaulted Catalan ceilings & the original tiled floor are still there. Its small, but has everything you need. Its so quiet you can easily forget there's an entire city below.

Who we are

  1. We're Hanne & Mauro - both in our late 30s. We don't have kids, pets or anything else that needs 'looking after' (other than plants). Hanne is Danish & Mauro is from Argentina. Because we work for ourselves, our schedules are super flexible which means we can take advantage of everything life has to offer. We love discovering the world, but also love returning to a place that feels like home.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We live right in the heart of everything. One block from the main cathedral. And 10-15 minutes from the beach. We have one of Barcelona's best markets right on the corner (Santa Caterina) - shopping for food is great. The neighbourhood is the lively old part of town (El Born), although we live in a corner (Sant Pere) which isn't overrun by tourists. The main city park is close by & running to the beach takes less than 10 mins.
