Our home

Our penthouse is situated in a historical building of the late 19th century in the old town of Barcelona, close to the walking boulevard Las Ramblas. It is situated right in the historical, cultural, social and commercial centre of Barcelona.

Our penthouse is about 80 square metres. You can see the sun rise from the seaside in the morning and the sunset behind the mountains, so it has a lot of sunlight all day long. It has a huge terrace in front where you can eat outside most of the year. The place has splendid views on Montjuic, Tibidabo, the old town with its historical churches and the rear side of the market La Boqueria. It’s like living in country-side house, but right in the middle of Barcelona.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our place is well communicated. It is a five minutes walk to the central railway station at Plaça Catalunya. Metro stations from several lines are very close by connecting you to almost any point in the city. Bus and train can bring you to the airport in less than half an hour. A few minutes walk down the Ramblas will bring you to the harbour, where you can take ferries to Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza or other Mediterranean destinations. Though it is perfectly possible to do without a car here, there is a large parking at the backside of our house. The quarter has a quick access to the orbital road surrounding Barcelona, and from there you have access to the main highways.

There is a lot of cultural activity in the quarter where we live. Several theatres and cinemas are close by, at a short walk’s distance. The opera building Liceo is less than five minutes from our place. There are many museums in the neighbourhood and modern-art galleries are surrounding our place.

There excellent restaurants, bars and shops of all nature in the quarter. The biggest market from Barcelona, La Boqueria, is virtually next door, where you can by fresh fish, meat fruit and vegetables before going home. Despite all the activities and the night-life in the quarter, our place is extremely quiet. You won’t perceive the city traffic here, though you will hear a seagull from time to time.
