Our home

We offer you a beautiful flat that faces the sea with breathtaking views. Our flat is very nice and comfortable. It has a small fully equipped kitchen, two spacious bedrooms: one with a king-size bed and an en-suite toilet and another one with twin beds, they both have a balcony that overlooks the beautiful community gardens. The living-room is next to a big terrace with plants and breathtaking views. It is well decorated and furnished and it is our second home, so the exchange can be non-simultaneous.
Please, note it is not suitable for children.

Who we are

  1. We are a couple with no children. We are retired. We were teachers and my husband is a novelist. We have experience on exchanging (New York, Paris, London, Stockholm, Wien, Saint Petersburg, Amsterdam, Algarve, San Francisco). All of them were very successful. We love travelling. We can exchange simultaneously or not but, in this last case, you can stay at our flat at any time of the year except July and August.
Sorry, but our home does not lend itself to children, so we would exchange with adults only. Sometimes we travel with two friends.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

It is situated in a quiet area next to Marina del Este (a cosy yatch marina) in La Herradura. You can swim, dive, snorkel, fish, sunbathe, etc. The resort has a salty water swimming-pool, beautiful gardens, private security guard, private access to the beach, parking and garage. It is considered an area of high standing. You can walk (five minutes) to the cosy and beautiful yatch marina., Marina Del Este. The nearest village is La Herradura about 2km by car (or walking on a steep road if you are fit!)
Local fishermen and farmers sell their produce in the municipal market, including the delicious cherimoya fruit. You can buy freshly baked bread at the baker's. eat paella cooked right on the beach.. La Herradura has much to offer visitors: a variety of restaurants and seaside "chiringuitos," lively beach bars, a marina, Spanish language schools, hiking trails, horseback riding, and excellent centers for diving, paragliding, and windsurfing.
A CAR IS RECOMMENDED. We can exchange ours in some circumstances.

La Herradura is also a great base from which to explore Andalucia. Within a day's journey are: the magnificent Alhambra palace and fortress built by the Moorish rulers of Al-Andalus in the 14th century; Federico Garcia Lorca's childhood home in Granada, the Picasso, Guggenheim, Ruso and Aduana museums in Malaga, and the white villages of the Alpujarra mountains, including Lanjaron and its famous spa. There is excellent hiking, camping, and skiing in the Sierra Nevada mountains national park. Closer by, you can visit the Nerja caves, the Moorish castle atop Salobreña, the picturesque village Frigiliana, exotic bird park, or the weekly flea markets in Nerja and Almuñecar.
