Our home

We offer a comfortable, spacious family home with 4 double and 1 single bedrooms. Three bathrooms are ensuite with another full bathroom available. There is a large open plan lounge and diningroom plus TV room. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, stove, ovens, full fridge and freezer. We have a very large, established garden (perfect for children to run free), securely fenced with a big pool and braai area. The garden attracts many bird species, which we enjoy watching from our full length diningroom window that overlooks their bird bath and feeding station. Full internet access is available plus satellite television. We have 2 adult mountain bikes and 2 smaller children's bikes for use plus the option of the Toyota Prado 4x4 vehicle (can seat up to 7). A small climbing wall is installed and there is also the option to have our domestic worker come in daily to assist with your cleaning and washing in the fully equipped outside laundry.

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are a professional couple in our mid 40's with 2 wonderful children, currently aged 5 (daughter) and 7 years (son). My husband, Mike, is an Executive Director for Paarl Media, South Africa's largest commercial printer, and I am their marketing manager. Mike is a passionate cyclist, especially mountain biking hence why we live in this special setting, and my son is following in his footsteps. We are a very close family and love spending time outdoors, camping, walking, horse riding and just enjoying the beauty thereof. We are all beginner skiers (2 days of lessons and skiing in our local Lesotho) and would love to brush up our skills in this regard. We are all fit and in good health. I also love to curl up and read a good book. So in summary we are looking for a destination that will provide a outdoor holiday adventure for the family.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our home is set in a cul da sac on the edge of a forest in the stunning winelands town of Stellenbosch, half an hour from beautiful Cape Town and all its attractions, as well as the beach. In addition to enjoying the art, architecture, live entertainment, wine tasting on the famous wine route, fresh food market, streetside cafes and fine dining of South Africa's 2nd oldest town, Stellenbosch provides a stunning natural setting surrounded by mountains, fynbos and vineyards. This includes the Jonkershoek nature reserve just down the road from us, which offers some of the best mountain biking, hiking and swimming in clear mountain rivers plus trout fishing. You can quite literally cycle straight from our doorstep. This is also a perfect base to explore the sites of the Western Cape, including whale watching, surfing or shark swimming in the nearby beach towns.

The additional benefit is that Stellenbosch boasts incredible summer weather with hot sunny days so you can enjoy your mealtimes in the garden or swimming all day in the pool.
