Our home

Located in a security complex (24-hour security staff on duty) right on the beach in picturesque Hout Bay, Cape Town. Nestled in a valley at the back of the world-famous Table Mountain, this suburb of Cape Town has a village-like feel but there's lots of activity: shopping, markets and night markets, outdoor sports, fantastic food options by the dozens. The best thing, apart from the views and proximity to the beach, is that most activities in Hout Bay are within walking distance, meaning you don't need to drive anywhere.
The flat is modern with all necessary amenities and there is a heated indoor pool in the building, with an outside balcony area for sunbathing. There is a door from the complex leading onto the beach and parking is in a secure underground car park under the building.
Central Cape Town is 25 minutes away along one of the world's most picturesque drives that takes you past the Twelve Apostles and Camps Bay. Wineries abound, and Noordhoek beach is just beyond another of the world's best drives past Chapman's Peak. Constantia (a vineyard), the start of the hiking trail up Table Mountain, and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens are a 10-15 minute drive away. If you don't want to drive, Uber is a popular way to get around and there are also MyCity buses going into town through Camps Bay very regularly - the bus stop is a 3-minute walk from the apartment.
The building has a communal garden area within the courtyard.

Who we are

  1. I'm a single expatriate living and working in Shanghai. Although my career has taken me to many different places around the world, I have lived in Shanghai for many years. I'm an education professional and in my current job, I travel a lot both for work and pleasure, so I'm open to both simultaneous and non-simultaneous exchanges. I love living in Shanghai, but it's always good to have a change and I find I appreciate my life in Shanghai more if I contrast this with time spent somewhere totally different from time-to-time.
I am a non-smoker, vegetarian and am clean and tidy. It's important for me that I leave your home the way I found it and would appreciate it if you do likewise!
Shanghai is a super-safe city and wonderful to explore on foot or by bicycle. My apartment is perfect for a couple or solo traveller and the location is right in the middle of the city!
