Who we are

  1. We are Patrick and Shirley van den Heever, recently early retired from our professional careers (computer software engineering and librarian) and ready to pursue our great love of travel with more urgency.

Although we have travelled extensively (mostly work related) we are new at home exchange.
We are keen to try what sounds a great way to see another country as a "resident" and give someone else the pleasure of seeing our beautiful, diverse, warm and sunny country.

We offer, if required, exchange partners further assistance to make your visit to the rainbow nation truely memorable..

We are flexible and not bound to simultaneous time exchange.

We do not smoke or drink alcohol and will take care of your home as we do of ours.

We do not keep pets as we travel to often.

The Margate local airport is 10 minutes away.

For nightlife and clubing, Margate and Durban is popular, otherwise it is a quiet area.

The coastal area is sub tropical, and a summer rainfall area. December and January can be very hot and even then rainfall is mainly limited to quick downpours.
