Our home

Our home is a large white double story with extra large patio. Three bedrooms, main bedroom en suite. The other two rooms share one complete bathroom. Completing the upstairs area is an office with latest pc and internet. Downstairs are dining room, entrance hall, shower and guest toilet, lounge, kitchen, scullery, ironing room, tv room with 42 inch flatscreen, dvd and satellite on request. Attached to the house is a fully equipped granny flat, with open plan kitchen living area, bathroom, bedroom, front and back veranda. The garden is my pride and joy, with swimming pool, bbq area, double garage and double carport. The property is fully walled and has an alarm system. George is situated on a small plateau between the sea and the mountains. Ten minutes to the sea and five minutes to the mountain. Our exports are wood and strawberries.

Property features

Who we are

  1. Our family home houses Natalie, 17, Christa, 53 and myself, Joseph, also 53. We moved to our lovely home 14 years ago from our other lovely home on the outskirts of Vienna. We have three grown up children who now lead their own lives in their own space. Christa studied Mathematics at the University of Vienna, and is now self-employed. I studied Linguistics at the University of South Africa, and was employed at the UN in Vienna where we met. I too am self-employed, and own a skate park. We decided that we wanted to spend our lives where there are palm trees all year round, thus the Garden Route of South Africa with its temperate Mediterranean climate. George, being the largest city on the Garden Route, catered perfectly to our needs at the time.
We went on two home exchanges recently (references on request).
Natalie has this year, 2013 to finish high school. therefore no long exchanges, but we are planning for 2014 for a few months if anyone is interested.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

This area offers walking, hiking, cycling, road and mountain, paragliding, skydiving, diving, whale watching, shark cage diving, boating, sailing, gyms and and and. I forgot to mention that George is the golf capital of SA, with six 18 hole courses, among them Fancourt, Kingswood, Oubaai and George, within a few kms, and three short courses. Because of our beautiful climate, and the fact that people spend their holidays, December and January in SA, here, means that an infrastructure of leisure, entertainment and adventure is of the essence for the visitors. For those of us living here it is a pleasant bonus in paradise. Just because we live in paradise does not mean that we do not want to travel and experience other earthly paradises, thus our effort to contact like-minded souls.
