Our home

On the lakes edge, our comfortable home is a wonderful retreat, but on the doorstep of Cape Town city. About 20km drive. No sign of the CITY here, great bird life and peaceful. Amazing beaches less than 5 mins drive, great restaurants, and amazing mountain hikes no more than 10 mins drive away. In winter the whales come into the bay, you can have breakfast at a local restaurant whilst the whales swim past. You need to have a car in Cape Town, some of the most scenic drives you will come across anywhere and all within an hour of your base. The Winelands are not far away, also about an hour, its a fantastic place to live with so many options.

Property features

Who we are

  1. I have a business that sells architectural salvage, which I source mainly out of South Africa, hence my need to stay in other countries for a while, whilst sourcing interesting stock. I do enjoy the finer things in life. And generally travel quite a lot, also within South Africa, so can be reasonably accommodating with guests. My shop is called On Site Gallery, and I have a facebook page that will give you some secret tips on Cape Town, you wont find elsewhere, I love my City and hope you find it as interesting as I do.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

This is a forgotten part of Cape Town really a bit off the beaten track, a very well planned older Marina style development, which has matured well, it is a very safe environment, with walks and a small island. This house which is on the water, faces west towards the mountains, with uninterrupted views. We enjoy many meals outside on the patio and swim in the lake on hot evenings, The beach is so close, and we make good use of that. We have a cafe within easy walking distance, for milk and newspapers. Every thing else that you might need is less than 5 mins drive away.I love the fact that its so close to everything but almost in the countryside at the same time.
