Our home

Description of our house

Our house is a single storey building of 150 sq m and has 2 bedrooms, both with double beds and 2 bathrooms, kitchen, a large open plan living area and a patio. The laundry is inside the double garage.

The house is situated in a security village, consisting of 18 units in Bela-Bela (Warmbaths). The name, means warm water and originated from natural hot springs which today is a large holiday resort in town. There are hot and cold swimming pools and other sports facilities. There are also similar resorts close to town, e.g. Klein Kariba. The house is looking towards the Waterberg Mountain range and although this is a holiday town, even in season it is very quiet where we live.

Bela-Bela is about 110 Km to the North of Pretoria, the capitol of South Africa.

We really enjoy our home and trust you will also experience the peace and quiet atmosphere.

Our neighborhood

There are a number of restaurants in and around town.
Furthermore, there are quite a number of game farms within our area; some of them even have the Big Five.

Another farm is called Sondela and is about 10 km out of town.
The well-known Kruger National Park is about 400 km from our house and Pilansberg which is adjacent to Sun City is about 270 Km from us. Refer to the websites below.

Who we are

  1. About Ourselves

We are both retired, Wynand (69) and Roelien (69). Wynand was born in Holland and came to South Africa at the age of 9. Although we visited Holland a few times we would like to experience a little of the Dutch way of life. We have been married since 1969.

We have 3 daughters and 7 grandchildren. Two of our daughters live just outside Bela-Bela, and the other one lives in Pretoria.
