Our home

Our home is the middle and top floor of a classic Norwegian wooden house. The house was built in 1903 but has been updated to a modern standard. It has wooden floors, a nice livingroom and a big modern kitchen with dining area. We also have three bedrooms and a TV lounge with a sofabed. The kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge freezer, cooker, oven, and everything you need to make a good meal. Outside there is a balcony, a backyard and a dedicated parking space.

Who we are

  1. We are Joanne and Fredrik, a married couple with a lovely teenage daughter. We both work with design and illustration. We also enjoy being creative in other ways, creating music and art. We enjoy travelling but feel like we want to do more of it. We have not done a home exchange before but it sounds great to see another country and get to experience it while living in a home. We are also exited about offering our home and the possibilities that it offers to someone else. We would like to arrange an exchange a bit in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email first to see how best we can facilitate their stay in lovely Norway.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We live in the town center in Stavanger, but its still a calm and family friendly area. You will be in walking distance to all shops, museums, restaurants, cafés and bars that Stavanger has to offer. Its also in walking distance to the bus and train station and the boat/ferry terminal. So public transport to anywhere is very easy to get to. All of these things are within a five minutes walk.

If you visit in the winter, rogaland is a great area for skiing and snow. The closest ski lift is about an hours drive or bus ride from town. If you visit in the spring or summer, it's a great area for sailing, surfing, swimming and climbing mountains. A 20 minute drive and you´re on lovely sandy beaches that offer clean water and good surf.

Visit the pulpit rock, swim in the fjords, ski in the mountains, surf on the beach, hike and see wild reindeer, enjoy local traditional food or excellent sushi with the world famous Norwegian salmon. It's all on our doorstep.
