Our home

There´s a big garden, with lots of play-area, a trampoline and sandpit, and we have hens that lay eggs.
The road outside is a dead end and we live in the end of it, so there´s no through traffic either.
There´s a lovely view of the area from the living room, and we have a roofed terrace and a balcony, facing south.
We have good bikes for you to use or if you are a keen skateboarder, there´s a lovely new bowl in the neighbourhood.

Who we are

  1. We are a family of five. Our kids are 13, 11 and 5. The two small sister and their big brother.
Both parents Tormod (48) and Kari (43) are college teachers in arts.

We have made three exchanges earlier, and found that to be a kind of holidaymaking that suited us well.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our neighborhood is a rather quiet one, with lots of kids in the same age as our own children running and playing in the streets. Our home is located in Austrått, Sandnes just about 15 min from Stavanger airport, Sola and 15 min from Stavanger city centre by car or train/bus. More about Sandnes/Stavanger please visit http://www.visitnorway.com/uk/Where-to-go-uk/Fjord-Norway/Stavanger/
There is good public transportation bus or train.

Sandnes is also perfectly located for a day trip to the Pulpit Rock, or if you want to go surfing there are ca. 90km of sandy beaches within a 20 minutes drive. The area is well suited for mountaineering, hikes, cycling and so on.
Not to mention the wonderful city Stavanger, just 16 km away. Check out the annual foodfestival http://gladmat.no/
